Find work that fits

How matches are chosen, where to look, and what to do with a notice that isn't for you.

How matching works

Every day, Crafteny scores each new notice against your profile on six things: your NAICS codes, set-asides, how the scope compares with your past work, contract size, location, and how recent it is. The ones that fit show on Opportunities as Matched for you, and the morning email lists them, only on days with something to say.

Change your profile and matching runs again, so the fastest way to better matches is a complete profile.

Where to look

Home
This week's dates, what is waiting on the government, and what needs your attention
Opportunities
Every published contract and grant, federal, state and local, searchable by keyword, with your matches marked
Radar
Early notices: sources sought, RFIs, presolicitations, special notices and grant forecasts. Press Follow, and a forecast moves to your board by itself once it is posted
Pursuits
Your board, in three columns: Not started, In progress and Submitted
Awards
What you submitted and how it came out

Found a notice somewhere else? Download its files from the buyer's page and press Upload RFP for a contract, or Upload NOFO for a grant. Crafteny reads every document you upload.

Why a notice was held back

Crafteny tells you why a notice that looks close was not shown as a match, so you can fix your profile when the reason is on your side.

The notice limits who can apply
Its rules exclude your firm. Nothing to fix, unless your profile is wrong
The work needs expertise or facilities your profile does not list
Add them to Profile if you have them, or find a partner who does
The work is outside what you do
Check What you pursue on Profile
Set aside for a program not on your profile
Add the certification to Profile if you hold it
Not small under this NAICS
You are over the size standard. You can still team as a subcontractor

Passing on a notice

Passing is free and never lost. The notice stays on your record with its reason, so nobody on your team analyzes the same contract again next quarter.

  1. 01On a card, press Not interested and pick a reason: not our scope, too big, too small, wrong location, no capacity, need a partner, or your own words.
  2. 02The card folds under Show passed, where anyone on your team can see it.
  3. 03Changed your mind? Reconsider puts it back on your board.

Inside a pursuit, the Bid or pass stage records a no bid with its reason, and the pursuit can be reopened later.
